Color and Read Emergent Readers {Updated and Expanded!}

A couple of years ago, I created some color and read emergent readers that my son in Pre-K used. Because she knows several sight words already, these were a perfect fit. This pack not only includes emergent readers, but also early emergent readers, like the ones you can find in Learning the Alphabet. Included in this HUGE pg pack are early emergent and emergent readers for the colors : red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, and black! They feature these basic sight words : a, I, look, at, the, see, can, you, it, is and this with predictable text. To say that my kids like to color is a HUGE understatement, especially my 4 year old.

Whether your child needs to fine tune his motor skills or simply wants a break from the daily homework grind or both , our coloring worksheets will do the trick. With cool professional illustrations that captivate kids of all ages, these coloring worksheets feature an educational component, ranging from dot to dot numbers and letters printables to pages that depict historical figures as well as various components of science. They can also use the pages as coloring pages and color ice cream pictures to make the color statements true. Of course, at my house, people are sure that even winter is a perfect time for ice cream. They really do love their ice cream! This is perfect for preschool and kindergarten students, as well as some first or second grade students, depending on their reading needs. This free printable easy reader is perfect for kids in preschool and kindergarten and older, as needed. With younger children, you can read the booklet to them and then they can color in the ice cream cones with the appropriate colors. For children who are already reading, they can read the book either with help or independently.

I gave him 6 blank pieces of paper and told him to draw a different picture on each one. When he was finished, I asked him what each picture was. Then I put together the pictures and wrote a story based on them. I enjoyed trying to tie all of the pictures into one story and the free time I got while he was drawing. I sew them together on the sewing machine.
